But his journey from self-taught YouTube student to industry essential has come with a heavy dose of market chaos and client burnout.
We sat down with BUMEREY to discuss his refusal to choose between his two crafts, his brutal honesty about the highly saturated beat market, and the three words that define his entire production philosophy.
From YouTube “Junk” to “Perfect Combination”
For BUMEREY, the decision to be both a producer and an engineer wasn’t a compromise—it was a logical power-up.
“I have no issues doing both, for me it’s a perfect skill combination.”
However, his path to mastery was a hustle. Starting in 2014, his early education was scattered across the internet, which he now views with a critical eye: “Learning Music production when I started didn’t come easy… I learnt everything there [on YouTube], but there is a lot of junk on YouTube.”
It’s this chaotic start that makes his current advice so sharp. If he could rewind time, he wouldn’t touch YouTube tutorials; he’d go straight for professional mentorship to build a foundation that bypasses the noise.
The Stressful Truth About The Beat Market
BUMEREY is unflinchingly honest about the current economic state of the industry. He notes that the Beat Selling Space is severely congested, with many individuals undervaluing their work—a practice he states is “messing up the market.”
But the price war isn’t the only stressor. He admits that managing the expectations of artists can be exhausting:
“Working with distant clients sometimes is amazing, most times tiring. THEY WILL STRESS YOU… the back and forths can be really tiring sometimes. But this is what we do, we can’t really complain.”
Despite the friction, his standards remain high. While he doesn’t pour the same energy into every single song, his focus is laser-sharp on one critical outcome: making sure every track “comes out sounding very good.” His definitive proof? “Definitely proud of Holy Water by Peruzzi.”
The Genius Advice: Less Is More
BUMEREY isn’t just focused on his own projects; he is committed to raising the bar for the entire industry through initiatives like his Music Camps, which focus on educating the next wave of creatives.
His most crucial lesson for producers is minimalist, but powerful:
“My advice to producers—LESS IS MORE… don’t crowd your music. Allow it breathe… Sound Selection is very important… and also listen to the songs that are been put out right now and Reference.”
This philosophy—trusting the space in the arrangement and obsessing over quality tones—is the formula for records that truly last.
Legacy: Sound Packs, New Artists, and Mentorship
Looking ahead, BUMEREY is focused on sharing the tools and knowledge he acquired:
