Beyond the Event: How Jamal Kamali Is Building a Cultural Home for Afro House in Europe

For more than 14 years, Jamal Kamali has been doing more than putting events together. As a Manchester-based creative entrepreneur, event curator, artist manager, and tour manager, he has built his career around one powerful idea: music has the ability to bring people together.

For Jamal, the event is never just the event. It is the people who meet there, the culture they experience, the memories they create, and the community that continues long after the music stops.

Now, he is taking that philosophy into his biggest chapter yet.

Building ALL OF US

Jamal’s current focus is ALL OF US, a platform he is building alongside his co-founders.

At its heart, ALL OF US represents the kind of cultural space Jamal has spent years working toward—a platform where music, community, and shared experiences can exist together.

His experience across events, artist management, and touring has given him a unique understanding of what it takes to create moments that resonate. Now, that experience is being channelled into building something with a bigger and longer-term vision.

Something people can belong to.

From Manchester to Europe

The ambition doesn’t stop in Manchester.

Over the next three to five years, Jamal wants to expand ALL OF US beyond the city and establish it as one of Europe’s leading Afro House and cultural platforms.

It is an ambitious goal, but one that fits naturally into his journey.

Having spent more than a decade working around music and culture, Jamal understands that building a meaningful platform isn’t about chasing quick recognition. It is about creating something people trust, return to, and eventually feel part of.

The vision is not simply to export an event. It is to build a cultural movement.

The Patience to Build

One of Jamal’s biggest lessons has been understanding that meaningful things take time.

In an industry that often celebrates immediate success, patience can feel like a difficult discipline. But building something with staying power requires consistency, learning, and the willingness to keep going when progress feels slower than expected.

For Jamal, the journey is just as important as the destination.

Every event, collaboration, artist, and experience adds another layer to what he is building.

A Legacy of Connection

When the work is eventually measured, Jamal hopes people remember more than the events he curated or the artists he worked with.

He wants to be remembered as someone who brought people together.

That simple ambition might be the clearest description of his entire career.

Whether through music, culture, touring, or community, Jamal continues to create spaces where people can meet, connect, and share something bigger than themselves.

And with ALL OF US, that philosophy is becoming a platform.

Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can build isn’t a stage. It’s a place where everyone feels like they belong.
