Some people discover creativity, while others seem to have been born carrying it. For Zorah, popularly known as Big Zo or The KJV, creativity is not simply a skill or profession—it is the very essence of who she is. She doesn’t see herself as someone confined by labels or expectations. In fact, if you asked her to describe herself, she might tell you she is a fish, a bird, or even pure light. It may sound unconventional, but for Big Zo, identity is fluid, constantly evolving, and shaped by the limitless possibilities of imagination. At the heart of it all is an artist determined to leave the world more beautiful than she found it.
Long before she began building her career, Big Zo realized she experienced life differently. While many people focused on what was immediately in front of them, she found herself imagining possibilities that stretched far beyond the ordinary. She often describes her perspective as seeing “a couple of kilometres past normal human vision,” a reflection of her ability to envision ideas long before they become reality. What others may have mistaken for eccentricity eventually became one of her greatest strengths, allowing her to create work that feels fresh, deeply personal, and unmistakably original.
For Big Zo, creativity is not something she switches on when inspiration arrives; it is a constant presence in her life. Ideas demand her attention until they are brought to life, whether through fashion, music, or visual expression. She is driven by an overwhelming desire to create work that outlives her, and she often speaks about wanting to leave the world having poured every ounce of her creativity into it. Rather than carrying unfulfilled ideas to the end of her journey, she wants to transform every vision into something people can experience, remember, and be inspired by.
Her greatest source of motivation comes from within, but it is deeply rooted in her faith. Big Zo believes God has placed gifts inside her that are meant to be shared with the world, and she sees the Holy Spirit as the voice that continually reminds her of that responsibility. Whenever challenges arise or self-doubt begins to creep in, her faith becomes the foundation that keeps her grounded. It is this spiritual conviction that gives her the confidence to keep creating, even when the path ahead seems uncertain.
Today, Big Zo is channeling her energy into two of her greatest passions: fashion and music. Rather than viewing them as separate disciplines, she sees them as complementary forms of storytelling. Through music, she communicates emotion and experience; through fashion, she gives those emotions a visual identity. Together, they allow her to express ideas that cannot always be captured through words alone, creating a creative language that is uniquely her own.
Her ambitions, however, extend far beyond producing clothing collections or releasing songs. One of her biggest dreams is to study at a prestigious fashion institute in Milan, where she hopes to refine her technical skills while gaining exposure to one of the world’s most influential fashion capitals. Yet, her goal is not to imitate Western fashion. Instead, she wants to return with knowledge that will strengthen her ability to tell African stories through design. Her vision is to create an Afrocentric fashion identity that feels contemporary, globally relevant, and proudly rooted in the richness of African culture.

Alongside her creative pursuits, Big Zo also dreams of pursuing a PhD, believing that education and creativity should exist hand in hand. She understands that true innovation comes from continuous learning, and she hopes to combine academic knowledge with artistic expression in ways that inspire future generations. Ultimately, she envisions building a legacy that extends beyond her personal achievements by giving back to the communities that have shaped her journey.

Like many creatives, Big Zo’s journey has not been without obstacles. She has experienced the disappointment of starting over after setbacks and understands the emotional weight of rebuilding when things do not go according to plan. Rather than allowing those moments to define her, she has chosen to see them as opportunities for growth. Every challenge has strengthened her resilience, refined her vision, and reminded her why she started creating in the first place.
She is also honest about the realities many young African creatives face. Pursuing a creative career often means navigating family expectations, financial uncertainty, and moments of self-doubt. Convincing loved ones that a life in fashion and the arts can be just as meaningful as a conventional profession is rarely easy. There are also the ongoing challenges of funding creative projects while protecting one’s mental health in an industry that constantly demands more. Despite these realities, Big Zo refuses to let adversity dictate the direction of her life.
Her philosophy for navigating difficult seasons is remarkably simple: keep moving. She believes that progress, no matter how slow, is always better than standing still. One of her favourite sayings captures this mindset perfectly: “As long as you no die, just fire dey go front. As long as you dey move, you go get wetin you dey find for front.” It is a reminder that resilience, persistence, and faith often matter more than speed, and that every step forward brings new possibilities.
As someone who thinks deeply about legacy, Big Zo wants her work to encourage others to embrace their own creative gifts without fear. She believes too many people spend their lives waiting for the perfect moment to begin, only to realize that time has quietly slipped away. Her advice is to stop waiting, start creating, and trust that growth will come through consistency. At the same time, she encourages people to remain kind, support their communities, and remember that true success is measured not only by personal achievements but also by the positive impact they have on others.

Big Zo is not simply building a fashion brand or pursuing a music career. She is creating a cultural movement that celebrates imagination, African identity, education, and purpose. Her vision challenges conventional ideas about what creativity can achieve while inspiring others to dream without limits. In an industry that often rewards imitation, she has chosen the far more difficult path of originality, proving that the most powerful stories are the ones that remain unapologetically authentic.
As her journey continues to unfold, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: Big Zo is not just creating art for today. She is building a legacy that will continue to shape conversations around fashion, music, and African creativity for years to come. If the future belongs to those bold enough to imagine it first, then Big Zo is already well on her way.
