For Fumilayo, creativity has never been confined to music. Known professionally as Marysa Ada, she is a musician, songwriter, performer, entrepreneur, and creative thinker building a life around sound, purpose, faith, and self-expression.
Her name means “give me joy,” a meaning she believes has followed her throughout life. But as she continues to grow, she is learning that bringing joy to others should never require losing herself in the process.
Sound With Intention
Fumilayo sees music as more than entertainment. She describes herself as a creative “programmer,” intentionally using lyrics and sound to encourage positive thinking, inspire resilience, and remind listeners of their own potential.
That philosophy has led to Melodic Meditation, a sound experience she created using live vocal looping to produce soothing, nature-inspired soundscapes.
Her ambition is to take the concept beyond music platforms and into retreats, festivals, rehabilitation programmes, and eventually international stages.
Building With Her Hands
Away from music, Fumilayo is also building Ase Grillz, a custom grillz brand that represents another side of her creativity.
After spending a year learning the craft, she began creating with her hands while developing a new business that could also support her music career.
For her, it is more than business. It is another way to create, experiment, learn, and challenge herself.
The Independent Artist
The reality of building an independent music career has not always been easy.
There have been moments when she has questioned whether the investment, sacrifice, and limited reach are worth continuing. Yet, despite those doubts, she keeps returning to the music.
Because for Fumilayo, music isn’t simply a career.
It is part of her purpose.
Her vision for the future is to travel the world with Melodic Meditation, grow Ase Grillz, expand Marysa Ada, and build a creative life that allows her to work with intention rather than exhaustion.
At the centre of it all is faith.
She hopes to be remembered as someone who taught through example, created boldly, and used her gifts to inspire others.
For Fumilayo, the goal isn’t simply to make something successful.
It is to create something meaningful enough to leave the world a little better than she found it.
