Class XII of the URP x TSC Creative Incubator took a fresh approach to sound, blending the energy of new-generation music with familiar influences. The result was a mix of contemporary sounds and recognisable elements, with MAVO, Zaylevelten, and Two-Face serving as reference points for the direction the class explored.
The experiment is part of a wider process of getting young creatives into the room, giving them space to work together and seeing what happens when different sounds and ideas meet.
URP is now preparing a joint project featuring its Classes of 2025 and 2026. The plan also includes workshops that will bring together creatives from different incubator classes, as well as people outside the programme. These sessions will create opportunities for participants to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and build relationships across creative disciplines.
But the incubator is only one part of what URP has planned.
Next Up: R 🦇 Fest 2026
URP’s next major undertaking is R 🦇 Fest 2026, a 30-day programme built around music, culture, and entertainment. The festival will feature surprise headliners, activities across different verticals, and experiences designed to bring creatives and their communities together.
Rather than concentrating everything into a single concert, the 30-day format gives URP room to explore different sides of the culture. Music will be part of the experience, alongside activities and gatherings that bring artists, creatives, and audiences into the same space.
The festival also builds on the connections fostered through the incubator. While Class XII explored what happens when different musical influences come together, R 🦇 Fest will extend that spirit of collaboration into a wider community setting.
With a joint Class of 2025 and 2026 project in preparation and workshops planned alongside it, URP has more than one reason to keep its community engaged.
